The UK government has begun the process of selling the university student loan book in an attempt to recover £12 billion.
The initial sale covers £4 billion in loans which were eligible for repayment between 2002 and 2006 and covers the first four-years of loans issued before 2012 when student university fees were increased to £9,000.
There have been concerns raised over the sale as an earlier sale of the pre-1998 student loan book resulted in problems for many borrowers.
